ABOUT MEK-12 Educator & Instructional DesignerI vividly remember being young and going to my grandpa’s own "Open Houses" for his classroom or watching him coach his many high school sports with San Diego Unified School District; then playing school with my grandma, lining up my own Barbie dolls and using her checkbook to make my own grade book. Hearing “You’re Coach Warner’s granddaughter!” on the pool deck or my grandma's own stories of teaching fourth grade really inspired me to pursue education.
I am a creative and engaging Educator transitioning to Instructional Designer, Learning Developer, and Corporate Trainer with 6+ years of experience designing content and training materials. I am a focused leader with emphasis in collaboration, course development, and technology. Through my experience, I have a proven track record for identifying target audiences and customizing curriculum. I am passionate advocate for equity in eLearning and blended learning environments. |

Through the Learning Design & Technology program at San Diego State, I learned foundational instructional design principles, such as SAMR and ADDIE, and adult learning theories while applying such research methodologies in a real-world context. I worked with various clients, like Helix Electric, the Instituto Tecnológico de León, and even SDSU's Language Acquisition Resource Lab, to complete an organizational analysis and training or curriculum based on their specific needs.

I love being able to help students find their joy of learning, even in the tough moments. My classroom and teaching style very much mirrors Ms. Frizzle, I'm always encouraging students to "take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!" Through incorporating cross-curricular subject matter, holding students to high expectations, and encouraging productive struggle, I have guided students in grades 2-5th in their own academic and social-emotional learning.
